    If you are UW-Madison faculty, staff, or student, and have migrated your email to Office 365, you can download and install Microsoft Office for Mac or Win for FREE on up to five devices, including personally-owned ones. Get started here: https://kb.wisc.edu/office365/page.php?id=43841

    UW-Madison Faculty and Staff who are licensed for Microsoft Office on their work computers through our Microsoft Desktop Campus Agreement may purchase Office for Mac and Win through the Microsoft Home Use Program for only $9.95 each. Students are not eligible for the Home Use Program.

    How to Purchase

    1. If you are faculty or staff employed by UW-Madison, sign in to WISC here: https://software.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/wisc_purchase/facstaff_purchase_wisc.cgi
      If you are not employed by UW-Madison, please contact your department's IT staff.
    2. Make sure your email address is correct on your order form.
    3. Scroll down the order form to item 66675, near the top of the list.
    4. Click the box to the left of that item.
    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the order form, click the "Pay by Credit Card button," and follow on-screen instructions to complete your order. If item 66675 is the only item on your order, you won't be charged.
    6. Within 30 minutes, you will receive an email with UW-Madison's HUP program code. Go to http://go.wisc.edu/hup, enter your UW email and the program code, and follow on-screen instructions to complete your purchase from Microsoft.

    About the Home Use Program

    • Software installed under the HUP can be used for either work-related or personal purposes.
    • Installation on one primary device and one mobile device (ie. laptop) is allowed.
    • Eligible customers are allowed to purchase one copy of Office for Win and one copy of Office for Mac.
    • Faculty or staff who are currently employed (payrolled through UW-Madison Employee Compensation and Benefits Services) are eligible to use software licensed under the Home Use Program. The right to use expires upon termination of employment.
    • Only the current versions of Office for Win or Mac are available. As of 02/13/2017, those are Office 2016 for Win and Office 2016 for Mac.
    • HUP software is purchased directly from Microsoft, and any order or support issues should be addressed to them.
    • You can purchase a DVD for an additional $13.99.
