How to Obtain StarOffice 8
If you are a student, researcher, staff, or faculty member you can download StarOffice 8 for free from Sun's Software Download Center. Login to the Sun Software Download Center by using your user name and password. If you do not have a user name or password for that site please register.

Free Downloads Available to Students, Researchers, Staff, and Faculty Members
-Start by going to: http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/edu/solutions/staroffice.html
-Look for the section about halfway down the page entitled "How to Get StarOffice 8 - Individuals".
-Click on the link called "Software Download Center".
-At this point you will have to create a Sun login if you do not already have one.
-Click on "Accept License Agreement".
-Then chose the platform you want to download. You will download an installer program, not a CD image.
(The installer for StarOffice Windows is around 140MB.)
